Mayday in Mayfair...
It's a lovely day outside. The sun is shining. The breeze is warm. The skies are clear. And as you can see with this photo from my window Berkeley Square is green and lush. And free of people. Not a womble in sight.
All the shops, hotels and businesses are all boarded up.
Except, strangely, Starbucks and Pret A Manger (partly owned by McDonalds) who have elected to remain open.
As I was taking the above pictures on the way to work this morning a policeman started to follow me. I guess it is pretty suspicious to take photos of what might become potential targets. When he caught up with me just outside our building he asked me what I was doing. "Taking before and after shots", I said and grinned. He smiled and walked off.
