Where to start? Oh yeah... YAAAAY FOR OUR TEAM!
Yesterday's magnificent victory was our first over City in the Premier League since (can be believe it?) December 2015 - a run of how many is it? 12 consecutive defeats. And it moves us up to second place in the table behind Sp*rs on goals scored going into the international break.
It was a hestitant first half with City having the pick of the chances. We were missing Saka for sure. And Raya looked nervous at times. But things changed in our favour in the seocnd half with Martinelli coming on for Trossard. The Brazillian's energy seemed infectious. The crowd responded accordingly. We were on the attack.
Arsenal were organised and resilient in defence too, keeping the ever threatening Haaland at bay. Raya seemed to be gaining in confidence too.
Controversy has not far away though with Kovacic committing more fouls against our players than flatulent pig with diarrhea. How he avoided getting sent off is beyond me.
But Arteta's next move was genius. Subbing on Partey, Tomiyasu, Havertz and we were looking pretty tasty.
The last ten minutes were frantic - the crowd were roaring, spluttering, screaming - and then it came.... Martinelli’s late strike, which deflected off Nathan Aké, hit home. The place went wild.
Minutes later it was all over. Arsenal had done what few had expected just 98 odd minutes earlier, sealed a huge win over City and maintained our unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
It is a victory that could yet prove significant come the end of the season.
We sang and sang long after the final whistle. What a match! What a win!
