Based on the film, Singin’ in the Rain is, of course, a fantastic musical with many great songs. Good Morning, Make ‘Em Laugh, and the title track were all stand-outs last night.
It’s a very funny piece too, telling the story of the talkies coming to Hollywood. The boy meets girl love story cleverly hides the digs at Tinsel Town’s cut and thrust.
Lena “ What's wrong with the way I talk?” Lamont is one of cinemas great creations. Vain, silly, ambitious - she steals every scene.
Last night, the whole cast put on an amazing performance, the singing was great, there were laughs aplenty, some lovely costumes, and some great tap-dancing too.
A fun night out - the cast and orchestra all punching well above their collective weight.
