Yesterday Stuart and I spend nearly four hours wandering and admiring the exhibits in the Milwaukee Art Museum. Lots of wows, some fun, and lots of ‘guess the artist before looking at the sign’ games. Stuart normally won. He has an excellent visual memory. “This will help us with art questions when watching University Challenge!” we both agreed. 😃
The Milwaukee Art Museum has over 34,000 works of art and gallery spaces totalling 150,000 sq. ft. making it the largest art museum in the state of Wisconsin and one of the largest art museums in the United States.
Artists include Rodin, Degas, Monet, Münter, Toulouse-Lautrec, Lloyd Wright, Picasso, Miró, Kandinsky, and Andy Warhol. It also has paintings by European painters Botticini, van Groningen, von Lenbach, Waldmüller, Bouguereau, Caillebotte, Bastien-Lepage, and Pechstein.
Quite the collection. We loved it.
