Chicago World’s Fair was, as its name suggests, a world’s fair held in Chicago in 1893. From many of the artefacts in that fair, along and with a large donation that Marshall Fields, sprung the Fields Museum.
The museum is a huge collection of natural history and social history. It covers history from the beginning of life on Earth, to dinosaurs, to meteorites, to world civilisations, up to the modern day - including fashion!
Indeed, one of the exhibitions currently running is African fashion. It’s fab.
