Day 17 : ¡Adios Costa Rica πŸ‡¨πŸ‡· y Panama πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¦!

Our last full day in Panama so we thought we’d go native. We avoided all the touristy spots, we walked (a lot), we got lost a bit, we got the tube, we went to local coffee shops, and we shopped. It was fun. And definitely showed a side of Panama City we’d not yet seen.

In our four days here we have found people to be generally and genuinely friendly. And good looking. A melting pot of peoples from over the years has stood them in good stead.

The cars let you cross the road pretty much anywhere. The pavement etiquette of pedestrians is perhaps more questionable though. The waiting staff, store staff, and tube station staff were all helpful and happily indulged our basic Spanish with good grace.

The folks travelling the tube were generally silent and didn’t stare too much.

The hotel reception staff were a bit sniffy but then reception staff can be. The other hotel employees were great.

We got - “you must be twins” - a lot! So much so we eventually just said “yes, yes we are. 12 years apart though. A long birth”

So it’s been fun staying in Panama. Although Costa Rica was hard to beat.

Tonight we are off out for our last meal and tomorrow we start our long trip back.

¡Adios Costa Rica πŸ‡¨πŸ‡· y Panama πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¦!
