Spice World: The Movie...

Spice World: The Movie has been voted the worst movie ever in a poll of 12,000 discerning moviegoers. The MSN Movies survey also honoured Titanic with a second spot, while Grease 2 mounted the podium in third place. MSN spokesman Mike Lok said: "I'm sure most viewers would admit to getting guilty pleasure from at least one film on the list. Some movies are just so bad, they're good."
Here's the Top Ten in full:
01. Spice World The Movie
02. Titanic
03. Grease 2
04. Waterworld
05. Hostel
06. Anaconda

Titanic's cool - a return to old school sweepingly romantic movie making, with no excessibe bad language and overt violence, etc.

And Hostel was awesome. Talk about catharsis!Yeah, it was repulsive in parts but it was also a great study on capatilism.

(I take it there's not another movie called Hostel?)

It's not often the IMDB gets it wrong, but it has this time. That film definitely has three words in its title, not four. It's 'Spiceworld - The Movie'. I seem to remember it pleasantly occupying a couple of hours on an otherwise dull Boxing Day. (Yes, we saw it on the day of release. How sad.)

I find this list pointless, because most films that are truly terrible pass us by; they don't get released. This list should be renamed 'films which had some commercial success but which people now think are unfashionable so they can slag them off'. I was really struggling to think what the worst film I've seen is, because I don't generally go to see films I wouldn't like, and I turn them off if they're not grabbing my attention on telly. But then I remembered Derek Jarman's 'The Angelic Conversation', which was so boring, I fell asleep, so I think it would have to be that. What's yours JG?

  3. So many crap films to choose from really. Rather like fashion it can be so bad it's good. But the worst films I've seen have to include Battlefield Earth and Howard the Duck. No redeeming features.
