Equality vs The Roman Catholic Church...


They only place about 75 kids a year in total so if they decide to close (which they won't) there are plenty of other agencies who can take up the slack.

    It does say about 200 children at the end of that BBC article, but whatever it is, let the Catholic agencies go screw themselves. If the government allows anyone the special exemption to be bigoted in this case, they will never hear the end of it in future legislative arguments. I never thought I'd agree with Harriet Harman, but she's spot on. You either allow people to discriminate or you don't.

    It will be no loss if we get religious organisations out of adoption and fostering. Then we can concentrate on getting religion out of schools.

    PS. I am Catholic.
