Yesterday, Darce and I flew down the coast from Boston to New York for the night to go and see a show. The way you do.
We took a little plane - and what turned out to be a rather bumpy ride (remind me never to take that flight again!) - into LaGuardia airport. Great views of Manhattan as we landed though.
Our hotel was on 34th Street so we popped into Jack Doyle’s for a drink or two first of all, and then headed to the rooftop garden of our hotel for a follow-up cocktail.
The heat was a blistering 38°C though so we didn’t stay long outside for long.
A little later we met up with the gorgeous Ed & Abby who very kindly bought us pre-theatre dinner before the show which was so nice of them. Lucky me, Stuart and I will be seeing Abby again in London next month so we can return the favour.
Little Show of Horrors was fab. As expected. Stuart and I had seen the same production there a year or two back. And it was great that Billy & Matt surprised us by booking the same show with seats next to ours.
After the show Billy, Matt, Darce & I went for more cocktails across the way and then on to a gay cowboy bar Blazing Saddles for some cowboy bar dancing, some $1 bill stuffing, and numerous night caps.
Darce & I then got a takeaway after that and were back at the hotel by midnight.
I was wired though by the three espresso martinis I’d had so was still wide awake at 2am!
Today we are getting the Amtrak back up the coast. I hope they have air con!
A lovely day-trip to the Big Apple.
