FA Cup Final 2015 : Arsenal FC 4 - 0 Aston Villa FC...

OOn Saturday Paul and I went to Wembley Stadium to see the mighty Arsenal FC take on Aston Villa FC in the FA Cup Final. And you know what? We smashed them. 4 - 0.

It was a thrilling display with goals from Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez, Per Mertesacker and Olivier Giroud.

Arsenal 3 - 0 Burnley...

On Saturday Paul and I went to the Emirates Stadium to see the in-form Arsenal FC take on the out-of-form Burnley FC.

The boys made hard work of it in the first half but came good after the break recording our second successive league win for the first time this season as Burnley's woes continued.

Alexis Sánchez was the man of the match scoring at 70′ and 90′. Callum Chambers got his first Arsenal goal after 72′. And Theo Walcott made a well return as a sub after ten months out injured. So all in all int was a great afternoon's footie.

Danny Welbeck...

Striker Danny Welbeck had a medical at Arsenal last night and then completed the move from Manchester United FC to Arsenal FC for £16m.

Danny Welbeck is the U2 of football; neither as good as the fanatics believe nor as bad as the haters suggest.

Still, it gives a strong English core at Arsenal - Chambers, Gibbs, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere, Walcott ... and now Welbeck.

Arsenal 3 - 1 Norwich...

My brother Simon and I went to watch the mighty Arsenal take on Norwich at the Emirates last Saturday afternoon. When they were 0-1 up Norwich cheated with fouls and time-wasting. The Norwich keeper Mark Bunn kindly let anyone in the ground visit the toilet and pick up a cup of tea before he took each goal kick.

It was a delight to see their time-wasting come undone as we scored 3 in the last few minutes and they had no time left to respond. Ha ha.


Update: We also both went to watch last night's 0 - 0 draw against Everton at the Emirates - which was a bit scrappy. The teams were pretty evenly matched. Olivier Giroud missed a couple of sitters though. Darron Gibson deserved a second yellow though and to be sent off after his nasty tackle against Theo Walcott. Still a point is a point.

Arsenal 5 - 1 West Ham...

A stuttering first half which saw the Arsenal struggle somewhat against West Ham United to level the score at 1 - 1 saw a blistering start to the second half with four goals in ten minutes. What a game!

Arsenal 7 - 3 Newcastle...

Last Saturday Paul and went to the late kick-off at the Emirates Stadium to watch the mighty Arsenal take on that "wee small club in the North" Newcastle. If it was an exciting and tense first half, it was a thrilling second.

The 10-goal thriller scoreline ran as follows:- 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3. 4-3. 5-3. 6-3, and finally 7-3.

Theo Walcott scored three goals and set up two more. Sign him up!

Arsenal 5 - 2 Spurs...

Well, well, well. So the North London Derby last Saturday didn't turn out quite as badly as it had first looked it was going to. After an early goal by Adebayor for Tottenham Hotspur things were looking grim for the Arsenal. But then he got himself sent off for a dreadful tackle and we ran rampant.

The score ended up being 5 - 2, the same as earlier on in the year when we turned round a 0 - 2 deficit.

Reading 5 - 7 Arsenal...

It was one of the most remarkable nights in League Cup history. It was a twelve-goal thriller.

A dismal performance in the first half left Arsenal 4-0 down. Then an amazing second half saw Theo Walcott scored a scintillating hat-trick as Arsenal produced one of the great comebacks to take their place in the last eight.

Arsenal 1-0 Stoke...

Paul and I went to the game last night as usual. We were playing Stoke at home. We didn't play the best game ever and what with Theo Walcott twisting his ankle so being out of the Cup Final on Sunday and Cesc Fabregas hurting his hamstring it wasn't a good night all in all. Except the result of course. Sebastien Squillaci popped it in the net after a nice cross from Nicklas Bendtner. We're now one point behind leaders Man U - who admittedly have a game in hand and slightly better goal difference.

The pantomime villain of the night was of course Ryan Shawcross. He got booed at every opportunity. On 27th February 2010 his attempted "tackle" broke both the tibia and fibula of Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey and resulted in a sending off. Immediately after the game the world and his wife rushed to Shawcross's defence - er, why? - saying "he's not that sort of player". Right. Yet those same people describe him as "a committed player". Like there's a difference between a committed tackle and a reckless tackle. Scum.

Arsenal 3 - 1 Chelsea...

Last night Paul and I went to see Arsenal boost their Premier League title hopes in emphatic fashion and damage Chelsea's in the process with a stylish victory at the Emirates. Exciting, heart-pounding and fun.

Newcastle 0 - 4 Arsenal...

Arsenal marched into the Quarter-Finals of the Carling Cup with a convincing win at Newcastle United last night. Four goals - one crazy, one controversial and two classy – did the trick to leave Arsène Wenger’s side just two steps from Wembley.

An attempted nodded clearance from Ryan Taylor hit his own keeper Tim Krul before going into the Magpies net to give Arsenal the lead. Theo Walcott raced through and dinked in a second after Nicklas Bendtner appeared to block a Magpies defender as he came back from an offside position.

Bendtner then curled in a shot and Walcott slotted in Arsenal's fourth.
So Arsenal join Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Ipswich Town, Manchester United, West Brom, West Ham United and Wigan Athletic in the draw for the quarter-finals this Saturday.
