Long before Ødegaard scored our injury time third goal at the Emirates Stadium last night to seal a comfortably win over the Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, we had known that Arsenal had all but secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League. It would take a strange result against our final opponent Girona next week to jeopardise that.
Yes, we had known it even after Havertz had scored our second after 66 minutes.
Indeed the Gunners could have scored more last night - even though Rice had opened our scoring after just 2 minutes, he had a shot blocked after a clever Ødegaard pass. Centre-back Gabriel also misfired as he headed wide from the edge of the six-yard-box from a corner.
Still, I'm not sniffing at a 3 - 0 win one jot.
It was lovely to see so many gaygooners before the match in the pub too. Lots of new faces and many who just came along to socialise and to chat. Lovely.
Onwards and up with my friends.
