I'm a bit of a late comer to Pedro Almodóvar films having only seen a couple of his earlier ones - before a few days ago that is. On Friday afternoon Guy and I went to see Volver at the Curzon. Fab film. Go see. And on Saturday night Stu and I stayed in and watched Bad Education on DVD - great film too. I just wonder why I've been such a slow coach to get into his films. I've recently bought myself a Pedro Almodóvar box set and so still have Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down, Live Flesh, All About My Mother and Talk To Her to look forward to.

  1. Spooky synchronicity: K & I watched Bad Education on DVD last night. Fantastic film, one of his best. We did keep having to pause the DVD and explain the plot twists to each other, though.

You are in for such a treat with those other DVDs.

  2. I agree - Bad Education, All About My Mother, Talk to Her, Live Flesh - fantastic films. Throw a sickie and stay in and watch them.

  3. Ha ha. I had to keep pausing BE too just so we both knew (OK, OK so *I* knew) what was going on.

Me? Throw a sickie? (He says sniffling away at his desk with a wretched cold...)

  4. ¡Átame! (as I prefer to call it!) is fabulous, if I remember rightly. I just can't quite believe it's 16 years since I saw it, but it must be as it was new at the time!
