David gave Stuart & me some top tips for museums in Madrid today — and wow, we weren’t disappointed. Cheers, buddy! 🙌
🖼️ @MuseoLazaroGaldiano
A hidden gem just around the corner from our hotel — the private collection of José Lázaro Galdiano, packed with Goya, El Bosco, Velázquez, and an incredible array of jewelry, arms, and curiosities.
🎨 @FundacionMariaCristinaMasaveuPeterson
A sleek, modern gallery showcasing Spanish art from the 19th century to today — Sorolla, Picasso, and plenty of contemporary pieces. Gorgeous space, though the staff were a bit frosty so we didn’t linger long. 😅
🏛️ @CentroCentro (Palacio de Cibeles)
One of Madrid’s most stunning civic buildings. Inside we wandered through some wonderfully eccentric rotating exhibitions.
🖌️ @MuseoPrado
Well… it was fab. The Prado is less a museum of art and more a museum of artists. It holds not just the occasional masterpiece but the most complete collections of Goya, Velázquez, Rubens, El Greco, and Bosch. Let’s just say there were plenty of “Earthly Delights.” 😉
A perfect Madrid day appreciating Art with a capital A. 💫
