He was the father of modern computing, helped crack the Enigma code that contributed to winning World War II, but wasn't treated like a hero in his lifetime due to his sexuality.

As a gay man he was chemically castrated and abused - finally taking his own life.

An absolute hero who did indeed save millions of lives and I'm glad he is finally being celebrated now by the British people.
