OneTwo...

Last night Paul, Simon and I went to see OneTwo at the Carling Islington Academy. OneTwo, as you may have read here before, are Claudia Brucken (of Propaganda fame) and Paul Humphreys (of OMD fame).

We were treated to over 90 minutes of all the Propaganda hits (Dr Mabuse, Duel and P-Machinery being the main ones), an Act hit (Snobbery and Decay - did they have more than one?), many OMD hits (too many to list here but not Enola Gay - copyright reasons?) and a smattering of new songs too (their 'easy listening' EP currently for sale on eBay features a song penned by Depeche Mode's Martin Gore).

The mainly gay and/or aging, balding crowd lapped it up. In fact all the whooping, screaming and general jumping about seemed to genuinely suprise Claudia and Paul. "Thanks", Paul said, "I had no idea you still remembered us!"

I got chatting with the DJ who was doing the warm-up set. Turns out he and his partner are writing for Andy Bell's new solo album. Small world.
