Leicester City 0 - 2 Arsenal…

What an amazing result it was yesterday afternoon at the King Power Stadium.

Fantastic though it was to meet up with the Leicester LGBT group Foxes Pride and be involved in their pre-match and post-match LGBT History Month events, the real buzz started after the players took to the pitch.

It was a nerve-racking game. Leicester stubbornly held on for the first 80 minutes under relentless pressure from the team in red. But thankfully our boys came good in the end. Well, I say “our boys”, what I really mean is one boy in particular.

No, not 17-year old Ethan Nwaneri - who continued to show his huge potential with another excellent display having hit the woodwork twice. But the person to whom Nwaneri crossed a ball to create the key moment in the match for Arsenal’s opener.

Yes, the spoils of the day must go to that ball’s recipient, our makeshift centre forward Mikel Merino.

Having scored from that fabulous cross, six minutes later Merino slotted in a second at the far post to seal the match for the Gunners.

Long after his two match-winning goals were chalked up we were still in raptures in the stands. Our song for Merino will no doubt be ringing in his ears for days to come.

The title race is still on, but we have a lot of ground to make up on Liverpool. I suspect the eventual league result will not be entirely in our own hands though.

Onwards and upwards, my friends.
