It was fantastic. A night of joyous, singing and dancing. Stuart and I were lucky enough to have a box that commanded us a fantastic view of the stage and of the audience.
Gavin was performing in the orchestra and I think he spotted us dancing around at the back of our box as Northern Soul classic after Northern Soul classic was played and beautifully sung.
Stuart absolutely loved it, which warmed my heart, as the tickets had been a birthday present from me.
Some might be a bit surprised that the BBC Proms aren’t just classical music. But they have a long tradition of holding concerts that have a more general appeal too.
