Andrew Sterry 40th...

Last Saturday Stu, Bron, Jimmy, Debbie, Jim, Jamie, Pip, Fay, me and a hundred other people descended upon Ocean Beach in Southend-on-Sea to help Andy celebrate his 40th birthday by throwing a party. Open bar, great food (fish head included), dancing and family flash mob all made it a night to remember. Jagerbombs and dips in the sea added to the fun.

Natalie's 40th / Kerry's 40th / Pippa’s 40th...

It's been a month of 40th birthday parties - all of them fabulous. First we had Nat's in Upminster. Then Kel's in lovely Southend-on-Sea. And finally Pip's on Eel Pie Island. He's one photo from each.

London Transport Museum...

Last Friday David and I went to the London Transport Museum in London's glitzy Covent Garden.

Steam trains, omnibuses, taxis and tube trains - there was lots to see and do. It was an entertainment and an education. Who knew the London Underground network used to go out as far as Southend-on-Sea?

Also just opening was a new exhibition: 150 years of London Underground poster - which was worth the price of the ticket alone. If you're ever at a loose end in town and you like that sort of thing - go!

Southend on Sea...

Last weekend Stu and I went to Southend on Sea. It was Fay's birthday on the Saturday night (more on that later) but on the Sunday we took a trip along the pier. Longest one in the world apparently, 1.35 miles. It has a train - which we took out - and then we walked back. Nicer than I thought it would be!
Kerry and Fergal then treated us to some lunch and we had a nice catch-up.
