Final tip in case your phone gets stolen… Put a PIN on your Phone’s SIM card.
Then whenever you reboot your phone or move your SIM card to a different device you have to put that PIN in.
Why do this?
When a thief nicks your phone the first thing they do is take your SIM card out and put it into their own unlocked phone - that way they’ll be able to unlock your online & bank accounts because they would receive your SMS notifications to their unlocked criminal phone. They also could download your WhatsApp messages as these follow your telephone number.
So lock your SIM. Just use a simple four digit code.
On an iPhone's SIM card with a PIN, you do the following:
Go to Settings
Select Mobile or Mobile Data
Select SIM PIN
Enter your SIM PIN
Tap Done
There might be an existing default PIN on it already (mine was 0000) so check with your operator first.
The default SIM PINs for some UK mobile networks are:
O2: 0000
EE: 1111
3: 0000
T-Mobile: 1210
Virgin Mobile: 7890
iD Mobile: 0000
SMARTY: 0000
giffgaff: 5555
