Italy : Milan : Duomo Climb…

Fresh off the train from Florence we climbed the 250 steps up the glorious Milan Cathedral to the Terraces on top. Lovely views. Great light. Shame about all the scaffolding!

So many great works of art in one great city. 

A few highlights of our day:-

• The huge cathedral / Duomo (albeit a bit drab inside)
  
• Brunelleschi's Dome Climb - 463 steps up! Phew! Great views though. 
  
• Michelangelo’s David @ the Accademia Galley 
  
• The Birth of Venus @ the Uffizi Gallery

Italy : Pisa…

A bit of nonsense at The Leaning Tower of Pisa before the guys headed off home and we headed off to Florence to continue our Italian adventure. Had to be done. 

Italy : Corniglia -> Manarola -> Riomaggiore…

Today’s last stretch along the beautiful coastal Cinque Terre trail restarted back in the high up village of Corniglia, continued down to Manarola, and then ended up in the stunning seaside village of Riomaggiore. 

It’s been a fantastic couple of days seeing these fabulous five villages. 

Italy : Monterosso -> Vernazza -> Corniglia…

Today’s trip was along the coastal Cinque Terre trail starting in the lovely seaside village of Monterosso, on to the fantastically beautiful multicoloured town of Vernazza, and then to the hill-top village of Corniglia. 

Exhausting as it was to walk up and stagger down the mountains, we had a great day out.
