Anderlecht 1-2 Arsenal...

Last night Arsenal FC laboured for a long period and seemed set for a deserved defeat to Anderlecht until nabbing all three points with an incredible turn-around at the death when Kieran Gibbs and Lukas Podolski fired home a leveler and then a winner just each side of the 90 minutes.

It was a suitable win for Arsene Wenger's 65th birthday celebration. Phew!

I guess my #WengerOut posts will have to wait for another day.

Arsenal 1 - 3 Bayern Munich...

Last night Simon and I went to watch the Champions League first round match at the Emirates Stadium as the might Arsenal took on the even mightier Bayern Munich.

We played pretty badly in the first half conceding two goals but picked up in the second, scoring one (courtesy of the ever smiling Lukas Podolski) but conceding another.

Just before kick-off the away fans let off a flare. Not a measly inshore one one but one of those 'you can see them for 50 miles in a storm at sea' bright orange ones. It filled the stadium with smoke and we could barely see the ball for 5 minutes. The smoke got caught in our throats too. My question is: how did they get in with that? And what if it had been a bomb?

Arsenal 5 - 1 West Ham...

A stuttering first half which saw the Arsenal struggle somewhat against West Ham United to level the score at 1 - 1 saw a blistering start to the second half with four goals in ten minutes. What a game!

Arsenal 2 - 0 Montpellier...

Jack Wiltshire is back. His first goal for the Gunners in two year's broke the first half deadlock and started the team on the road to a 2-0 victory and entrance to the lockout stages of the Champions League. After scoring he ran into the stands to embrace his physio. Bless.

The second goal came from Podolski whose powerful left-footed volley delightfully sealed the win.

Arsenal 6-1 Southampton...

What a amazing game it was last Saturday. The Gunners took on The Saints at home at the Emirates Stadium and thrashed them. 6-1 if you please - OK, two OGs but that's still 4 goals by own boys. Sad we lost our clean sheet by letting one in but that's the first one in four games so the defence is looking good.

One of our goals was scored by the wonderful Lukas Podolski. Love the man!
