Mesut Ozil...
Arsenal have completed the £42.4m signing of Real Madrid and Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil to break their club record by £27.4m. Here is is with German team mate Lukas Podolski.

Morrissey vs The Olympics...
I think Morrissey is entitled to his opinion. I don't necessarily share it but then I'm acutely aware that no one likes the truth when they hear it and an alarm bell has rung with me for just that reason. So if something makes me feel uncomfortable (and this does a little bit) I have to ask myself whether there might be some truth in it. Yeah, I know Morrissey is controversy-loving and can be a bit of knob but we need the mavericks, the comics and the jesters in society to speak out. We can dismiss them when we want - but sometimes they might tell just the truth. He's wrong in this case *obviously* but I'd not criticise him for saying what he thinks.
His statement :- “I am unable to watch the Olympics due to the blustering jingoism that drenches the event. Has England ever been quite so foul with patriotism? The ‘dazzling royals’ have hi-jacked the Olympics for their own empirical needs. As I recently drove through Greece I noticed repeated graffiti seemingly everywhere on every available wall. In large blue letters it said WAKE UP, WAKE UP. It could almost have been written with the British public in mind, because although the spirit of 1939 Germany now pervades throughout media-brand Britain, the 2013 grotesque inevitability of Lord and Lady Beckham is, believe me, a fate worse than life. WAKE UP WAKE UP."

iPhone Tracker...
This is some of my tracking data that Apple's IOS has been collecting and storing on my iPhone. The recent IOS 4.3.3 update reduces the scope to 7 days and doesn't copy it to the backup folder on the computer anymore but before I install this update I thought I'd take a look where I'd been recently.
I have shown you the UK data only statically, but you can display the day by day movements too. The full world map also tracks me visiting Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Northern Ireland, Holland and Germany. Scary.

Berlin...
Darren, Mark, Stu and I went to Berlin for the long weekend just gone. In spite of the rather persistent rain we had an amazing time; sight-seeing, eating, drinking, meeting old friends (hello Charlie!) and new (Hello Alex! Hello Ollie! Hello Olrik!) and getting up to all sorts of mischief.
We stayed at the Axel Hotel which was really quite good and right in the middle of the gay district. Review: Recommended.
While we were there we did a walking tour (self-guided - thank you Darren) and a bus tour (with live commentary). Both were great ways to see the city.
The bars we went to were mainly Scheune (hello Sheena Easton), Tom's (pretty but generic), Hafen (nice but the drunks were annoying), Heile Welt (ugh) and Woof (nice bar staff!). Next time we'll go to lab.oratory too!
