FA Community Shield 2014...

Yesterday afternoon my brother and I watched a great win at Wembley Stadium as the mighty Arsenal trounced the over-paid mercenary Manchester City 3-0 in the FA Community Shield to yet win more silverware! Let's build a bigger trophy cabinet boys!

Arsenal FC - FA Cup Winners 2014...

We only went and blooming well won it! What an amazing day!Arsenal FC are now the FA Cup Winners 2014.

Paul and I started the day at Piebury Corner with Sam and his mate James. We then moved on to The Horatia, The Wetherspoons at Baker Street station and then Wembley itself. We were nervous as hell (as Hull?)

Sharon had swung us Club Wembley tickets (strictly no club colours allowed - but we snuck them in anyway). Great seats and we were as excited as two excited things with particular reasons to be excited.

Disaster struck just after kick-off though and we we're  two nil down within 9 minutes. Luckily things improved and we  fought back through extra time to get a 3-2 victory. Goals went to Santi, Kos and Rambo.

Paul and I went mental.

Afterwards we headed into town and then on to the Hen and Chickens to finish the night off with Sam.

The following day I watched the victory parade with Mark from St Paul's Road. Such fun.

Here's to the same time next year!

FA Cup Semi-Final...

Last Saturday Sam and I went to Wembley Stadium to watch Arsenal FC take on Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup semi-final. It was an awful game. We played terribly - just managing to squeeze a draw towards the end of normal time. After extra time it was still 1-1 so it was decided on penalties. Luckily (and I mean that) we scraped a win. They say that victory should taste sweet - but this one left a sour taste in the mouth. Oh well, into the ballot I go for a chance to watch the final on 17th May. Let's hope we pull our overlong red and white socks up by then.

Arsenal 1 - 2 Birmingham...

Yesterday Paul and I went to Wembley Stadium to watch the mighty Arsenal take on Birmingham City in the Carling Cup Final. We played OK I suppose but they just wanted it more. A calamitous Arsenal defensive mix-up two minutes from time meant that they sneaked a win. Pah!

Arsenal 3 - 0 Ipswich (agg 3 - 1)...

Last night Paul and I went to watch the mighty Arsenal take on Ipswich Town in the 2nd leg of the Carling Cup semi-final at the Emirates Stadium. Not sitting in our usual seats we were nearer the 9,000 away fans. Fans who were being pretty vocal - having beaten us 1-0 at Portman Road in the 1st leg and sensing a big upset. It took us until the sixty-first minute before Nicklas Bendtner opened up the scoring. Three minutes later Laurent Koscielny headed another in from a corner. Finally Cesc Fabregas sealed the visitors' fate on the seventy-seventh minute. 3-0 the result (3-1 on aggregate). "You're not singing, you're not singing, you're not singing anymore. You're not singing anymore."

Arsenal will now play either Birmingham or West Ham in the final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 27th February as we attempt to win their first silverware since the 2005 FA Cup.

UPDATE: Looks like we'll be playing Birmingham City in the final then.
