Yesterday Ethan, Darce, and I took a tour of the Red Sox baseball ground - Fenway Park.
Since 1912, fans have been pouring into Fenway Park like it’s the hottest party in Boston - and let’s be honest, sometimes it actually is. The day we went it was a scorching 33°C.
Affectionately (and humbly) called “America’s Most Beloved Ballpark,” Fenway has been the stomping ground of Red Sox legends like Williams, Yaz, Fisk, Rice, and Pedro - basically a baseball Mount Rushmore but with better batting averages.
We climbed up to the top of the stadium to admire the views. And then sat on the Green Monster - yes, it’s really 37 feet 2 inches tall, because apparently 37 feet just wasn’t enough - to enjoy the best left-field panorama in the game.
Our expert tour guide (along with Ethan’s whispered tidbits of knowledge as a long-term fan) walked us through the iconic halls & walls, told us of unforgettable moments, and shared the losses - all with typical Bostonian self-deprecating humour.
And I bought another cap - a Red Box one. Sorry Ed! Sorry Stuart!
