Big Brother Ruined...

It pains me to say this but... I've lost all patience, sympathy and interest in Big Brother this year. Shame really as I'd been hooked for the whole three months rarely missing a show but with one week to go I feel betrayed by the producers. Sure housemates leave, housemates return, but this year the show's producers have gone too far - blatant changing of the rules to get the show that they want (and promote) has turned it from a show that the public want to an over-produced rip off. Never once in the previous seven years I've I believed the show to be 'fixed'. But this week has changed my mind.

I, for one, will be switching off in the final week.

Well bravo you. Putting that skank faced monstrosity Nikki back in there was a mistake of titanic proportions. She looks like a friggin' Barbie doll with downs syndrome. I personally spent at least £2.00 voting her out when the opportunity arose and I want my money back! That programmes been pathetic, sad and desperate this last few weeks and boycotting it is the only sensible option.

  2. I agree with both of you. I've been a big fan every year, but they have ruined it this year and ripped us off. The selection of housemates was substandard this year from the start anyway, but it's gone beyond the pale this week with the recycling of obnoxious and disturbed housemates. We should all get our money back when Icstis rules, but it will be in about 12 weeks, apparently. Unfortunately, it won't bankrupt Endemol or Channel 4, just the two companies who provide their voting services (different ones for text and calls).

Anyone know info, email addresses maybe, of who to write too to complain about all this? I think the more people that complain, the better!

I can't believe that any thinking, sensible person gives the remostest shit about this. Unless of course you have bought into the lie that the show was in any way "reality" or gave some sort of "insight" into the human condition.

"Betrayed" by the producers? You are going to write and complain? What planet are you on? Don't you all have LIVES?

So they put someone back in - so what? You have FINALLY realised what total, utter crap this show really is (and always has been) and that Channel 4 is just out to make money - shock horror!

Oh - and next time, before you give your money (via calls and texts) so these rip-off artists, it helps to check the RULES. Then you can't complain of being "betrayed"! GIMMIE A BREAK!

    BIG BROTHER RULES EXTRACT:

    14) THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF ALL: Big Brother reserves the right to change the rules at any time.

    (see: http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/about/bb-rules.html)

I think the term "caveat emptor" springs to mind.

  6. Dear anonymous. You have completely missed the point. We know that they can change the rules; that's what usually makes it fun and unpredictable. What they're NOT allowed to do is break the external regulations which govern the UK's premium rate phone lines, but this is clearly what they've done. That's why there have been 3,000 complaints to Icstis, the regulator, and why they have launched an official investigation. Voters were led to believe that evicted housemates were evicted forever, as in previous years, so we have been conned and robbed. It's this which has broken the trust between us, the otherwise loyal viewers, and Endemol. They've ripped us off. (They've also gone against the spirit of the whole thing by allowing an evicted housemate back in to win. That's not against the law, but it still pisses me off. It defeats the object of the show as an elimination contest.)
