Juniper Blood at Donmar Warehouse…

Last night Stuart and I went to see Mike Bartlett’s Juniper Blood at Donmar Warehouse in glitzy Covent Garden @donmarwarehouse

What a ride it was. We had the magnetic Sam Troughton @samtroughton as full off-grid zealot Lip and the fierce Hattie Morahan @hattiemorahan as his foil Ruth.

It was farm meets philosophy meets generational turf war. Visiting youngster Milly’s attitude (from Nadia Parkers) and her student friend Femi’s wheeling logic (from Terique Jarrett) added zip and a dash of chaos. Neighbour farmer Tony (the wonderful Jonathan Slinger) gave much light relief.

Reality and idealism tangled like roots and occasionally Lip’s conspiracy obsession had us gasping. Theatrical brain food never looked so grubby and glorious. Brilliant, messy, earthy theatre.

Suffolk Family Holiday / Meal & Distillery Tour…

Final day with the family in Southwold. A meal last night teaching my grandnephews the joy of MarioKart and then today an Adnams Brewery distillery tour with Karen, Simon, and Jos. Both were fab.
