Last Saturday Stuart and I had a great Xmas🎄afternoon (and night!) out with all the Essex gang 🎉
First we all went to see Dave‘s fantastic play End at The Dorfman theatre 🎭 and then we went on to the Anchor pub 🍻 on the river.
A lot of laughter 😂 and great to see everyone. ❤️
Today Stuart and I carried on our annual tradition of picking a Christmas tree from Pins and Needles Highbury. 🌲
We both always put the lights up 🌟. But ONLY STUART puts the baubles up 🪩. He loves it so much ❤️. It’s his thing.
And he definitely subscribes to the MORE is MORE school of tree decorating 🤣
As ever, each year he adds all the new decorations we have bought from each place we have been to on our travels that year.
It’s getting so bad, the poor tree can barely cope. At this rate we’ll soon need a second tree! 🥴🌲🎄🤣
Yesterday afternoon Andrew and I went to see the On the Art of Teeth exhibit at Barts Pathology Museum in London’s glitzy Smithfield.
The museum is a wonder - housing over 4,000 human pathological specimens over 3 mezzanine levels.
For the exhibit, artist @JanetkaPlatun and #DrDavidMills have turned nineteenth century dental specimens into sly wonders using micro tomography to sneak inside enamel and expose memories decay and survival.

A delightful gathering with the gaygooners before the match was the perfect warm up before heading to the Emirates Stadium where the Gunners took on those pesky Bees from across town.
Who needs specialist strikers when Mikel Merino decides to reinvent himself as a target man though? A makeshift forward line doing the business again. He headed home early on from a Ben White cross while that man Saka finished the job off with a gentle tap past the (Bee)keeper.
Brentford offered little, bar a single scare for Raya.
Eighteen games unbeaten and five points clear at the top of the league feels dangerously competent for this football club. Now we just need to wrap Declan Rice in cotton wool immediately!

Yesterday afternoon went to see Pillion at Odeon in London’s glitzy Holloway.
Colin (Harry Melling) meets mysterious biker Ray (Alexander Skarsgård) and gets roped into a kinky biker BDSM romance. Writer/director Harry Lighton weaves a darkly funny but tender tale of submission, self-discovery and sad longing. The sex is rough. The romance is unexpectedly gentle. Colin blossoms. Ray stays a sad enigma. Melancholy rides shotgun. That explicit picnic scene stays with you. A gutsy queer film. A film that’s messy, honest, sometimes shocking. But a film that is quietly hopeful and deeply human.

It was lovely to have the boys over on Saturday afternoon / night for our annual pre-festivities party. 🎄🥳
Stuart did us proud with the food and we made up goodie bags of homemade fayre; sloe gin, quince jelly, marmalade, and biscuits. 🍸🫐🍑🍊🍪
We laughed. A lot. 🤣
Another gaygooners trip across town yesterday to Satan’s Playground to watch the mighty Arsenal take on the soulless Blue Devils.
Arsenal almost had everyone fit again only for Saliba to drop out at the last moment. Arteta turned to Hincapie and Mosquera for central defence and the usual set piece swagger evaporated somewhat. Chelsea scored from a corner which felt like someone else had borrowed Arsenal’s favourite party trick.
Mosquera looked a little rattled and collected a booking. Calafiori and Hincapie followed suit in the name of team spirit.
Merino rescued the mood because he enjoys doing that. Not the slickest display but unbeaten through Spurs and Bayern and now Chelsea. Still five points clear and a point away from home is perfectly respectable even if Chelsea finished with ten.
